ENTERPRISE SOFTWARE ISD is the technology and software development division of Walmart Stores, Inc. In my role as an ISD Product Manager I work with the business customer, the program/project management team, and the development team to establish a product strategy and roadmap that will meet the business' need for state-of-the-art workforce management solutions for the company's global in-store workforce.
PRODUCTS The global associate scheduling team provides robust software solutions to the divisional store innovation business groups designed upon workload driven, optimized schedules.
RESULT These optimized associate scheduling solutions have saved the company money while providing important visibility into the nature of balancing customer service needs with labor budgets.

RETAIL PHOTO Managed a team of eight product managers, two technical writers, a product marketing manager, and a marketing graphics specialist in the development and implementation of innovative consumer facing kiosk systems for retail digital photo processing for customers such as Walgreens.
PRODUCTS Systems integration and installation of photo kiosk application software, consumer-facing touchscreen-based computer kiosks, dye sublimation digital photo printers, and all associated peripherals and supporting infrastructure.
RESULT Our retail customers were able to maintain, or even strengthen, their retail photo presence in the face of the challenging nature of today's digital photo industry.

AUTOMATIC IDENTIFICATION Responsible for developing supporting documentation to move established and new product lines through the Product Life Cycle model. Managed product managers and product integration specialists involved in a variety of tasks such as product definition, beta test, beta resolution, competitive product evaluation, marketing collateral, launch activities, pre-sale and post-sale support, and providing product specific training for internal resources. Coordinated effort with hardware and software engineering groups to insure that products were appropriately beta tested, refined, and readied for production release.
PRODUCTS Industrial barcode printers, application software, control language for embedded data collection applications, XML interface to SAP and Oracle based RFID labeling solutions.
RESULT Higher level of quality and increased ease of customer use of our industrial barcode printers.

DEVELOPER NETWORK Tasked with developing marketing relationships with third party software developers, systems integrators, value-added resellers, and top tier ERP providers for the purpose of furthering the product brand in those industries. Also coordinated product compatibility testing and certification efforts while serving in various product management roles. Initiated an alliance marketing campaign and served as liaison to third party software developers and alliance partners. Launched the Datamax Developer Network.
RESULT Increased brand awareness and improved outreach to our developer and reseller channel.

EMBEDDED DEVELOPMENT TOOLS As part of my focus at Datamax I championed the innovative launch of MCL Technologies' embedded application engine and development tools for our industrial thermal bar code printers. This integration increased sales and allowed Datamax printers to serve as application clients in a variety of bar code and data collection environments.
RESULT New revenue source from selling printers with embedded data collection applications through our reseller channel.

AUTOMATIC IDENTIFICATION Responsible for data collection and barcode (including 2D symbologies) system sales and sales assistance in the U.S. Western Region through a variety of pre-sale and post-sale activities. Developed functional specifications for custom application software. Provided end-user support and training, on-site system implementation assistance, and product demonstrations. Team selling with 10 Territory Managers.
PRODUCTS Batch process and wireless (WiFi) handheld computers/data collection terminals, custom application design, installation and training services, barcode labeling solutions.
RESULT Established ourselves as a data collection business resource with our reseller and distribution channel.

UTILITY/GOVERNMENT DATA COLLECTION Responsible for North American marketing operations for a leading worldwide manufacturer of rugged, handheld computers, portable printers, and application software. Departmental responsibilities included product management, advertising, Internet presence, proposal writing, technical writing, prospect database and lead tracking, and trade show management and participation. Accountable for overall management of departmental budget as well as direct sales responsibilities to the OEM channel and the Caribbean region.
In previous roles while at Radix I supervised technical support and systems implementation teams. I also worked directly with senior management to identify new markets and potential applications for our products, after which I directed the development of the prototype applications, infiltrated the applicable associations, and established sales channels into targeted client organizations.
PRODUCTS Rugged, handheld computers, portable printers, and custom application software for utility meter reading (electric, water, gas), municipal and collegiate parking enforcement, federal inspection of commercial motor vehicles, and municipal building inspectors.
RESULT Beyond our existing defined business model I developed and sold innovative new system offerings to various state, county, and city government entities.

BROADCAST VIDEO EQUIPMENT I was responsible for maintaining the finished goods inventory. Gained valuable knowledge while participating in a team tasked with moving the entire U.S. division to a close-looped MRP system. I also participated in inventory management, cycle counting, and order staging.
PRODUCTS Broadcast television cameras, video monitors, switching equipment, and 3-D graphics generators.
RESULT Increased inventory accuracy and quality of system shipments leaving finished goods.
